Jesus rode on a donkey... They look like they are praying....

The aloe is symbolic of endurance...

We must persevere like an Aloe in the Karoo in our faith.... Wait up

rain.,(bless) the little feelings are the Father Son and Holy Spirit....

Furthermore, the painting with just a house/church and a moon is my Silent Night series..

it was just Mary and Jesus....

It began with a silent night and it ended with a silent night.....

From Bethlehem to the Pietá.... First wrapped in cloths and laid down in a stone

then wrapped in swaddling cloths for His grave.... But 3 days later......

PS.... And then I wonder after all these years... What happened to Joseph?

Annie's Art Symbolism

The Houses and Churches on mу paintings are symbolic of Jesus who is our safe fortress

is and also the focus of each painting... Furthermore, the moon is symbolic of Mary.

On every painting they are together.

mу tribute to Maria, the mother who lost her child... My Pietá...

for Maria it was not a good friday...The smaller houses are us...

their windows are our eyes and their doors are our mouths..

Furthermore, each color is symbolic of something else...

The 3 trees are the 3 crosses and notice

the moon is there...(Maria) The yellow sky, which is around the houses a lot, is the

Holy Spirit... And that means protection... The blue sky is heaven and the

stars all we have given up to death....

The gates are Heaven's gates....They don't have locks...

It is therefore not as difficult to go to heaven as it may seem (close gate)

You just have to accept the Lord as SAVIOR....

Furthermore, the patchwork landscape is the book of Life... Every color has

symbolic value... The red is Jesus' blood that washed away our sins.....

The green is our growth in faith.... The purple is a holy color and

therefore often painted around the cross to show my faith is Holy...

The little flowers are our offspring and therefore often painted yellow and such

asking for protection for our children and grandchildren....

The brown landscape points to a life without Christ and it shows the clarity of

life in light. Light against darkness.....

The laundry is our daily work... (washing laundry) The wind drum is symbolic

there to show one must be spirited...

A windbreaker (man) is BEAUTIFUL as he is, but useless without wind

(The Holy Spirit) Furthermore, the donkey is the symbol of humility....
